HOW TO FEEL MISERABLE AS AN ARTIST.
or what not to do

1. CONSTANTLY COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHER ARTISTS.
2. TALK TO YOUR FAMILY ABOUT WHAT YOU DO AND EXPECT THEM TO CHEER YOU ON.
3. BASE THE SUCCESS OF YOUR ENTIRE CAREER ON ONE PROJECT.
4.STICK WITH WHAT YOU KNOW.
5. UNDERVALUE YOUR EXPERTISE.
6.LET MONEY DICTATE WHAT YOU DO.
7. BOW TO SOCIETAL PRESSURES.
8. ONLY DO WORK THAT YOUR FAMILY WOULD LOVE.
9. DO WHATEVER THE CLIENT/CUSTOMER/GALLERY OWNER/PATRON/INVESTOR ASKS.
10. SET UNACHIEVABLE/OVERWHELMING GOALS. TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BY TOMORROW (or whatever due date you set for yourself)

im like guilty of all of those.

what about you??/]

OH MAIZ
i cant remember when i was first captivated by this electric dancer of the 1920's. She had a career in showbuisness from the about the age of 15 until her death. She ran on energizer batteries or somthing cuz this woman she was on stage, her presence strong as ever, the day before she died. She moved to Paris at 19 and turned the world upside-down, as the French adored her and saw her as an exotic flower and not the "inferior negro" she was seen as in the United States at that time. Dancer, singer, actor, commedian, humanitarian, simply stunning.

enjoy what i found on youtube!
her first review in paris :[link]
skip the first 30 seconds if you can, i promise there's footage! :[link]
hilarious song! this is her singing :[link]
a wonderful 6-part video biography; visit the guy's video site to find the rest of them if youre curious. part one-
